I thought it was time for a puppy update. The photos of Lucy are from July when she stayed with us for a week, and the photos of Roman are from this past weekend. They are both pretty much fully grown. Their personalities are very different, and I love them both.
Lucy has an independent spirit. She is her own woman. She likes to be by her humans, but she is content sleeping on the bed or curled up nearby.
She can leap tall buildings without the least bit of effort.
Lucy is a gentle, sweetheart who loves nothing more than chasing a tennis ball all day long. She is polite with Riley. She leaves him alone and gives him turns with the tennis ball, which says a lot about her.
Sometimes we have to take the tennis ball away from her. That doesn't stop her from finding something else to chase. And she puts the ball or toy right where you are standing, sitting, or in your hand so you don't have to make any effort to get it! She's brilliant.
Lucy can't be trusted outside without a leash (at least with me). She adores wide open spaces and she will run like the wind if she gets the chance.
Roman is best described as a bull in a china shop. He's not yet completely aware of his body, and he can knock you down if you aren't careful. He is hyper-aware of his surroundings, and when he hears a foreign noise, his eyes widen and his ears perk up before he dashes off to see what it is.
Roman likes to cuddle and he doesn't like it when Katherine is not in his line of sight. He knows Riley is king around our house, but that doesn't stop him from trying to dethrone him.
When Katherine is not there, Roman doesn't mind climbing up into my lap to take a nap -no prompting on my part. He looks like a huge wooly-bear caterpillar in this photo.
I think he learned this trick from Riley.
