One Day in Paris

We arrived in Paris this morning at 6:40 a.m. while it was half past midnight at home. Our hotel is near the Champs Elysees and the Arc de Triomphe.

After a brief stop at our hotel, we dragged our jet-lagged selves out into the streets and met up with Pam's Parisian friend, Jean-Francois. We were excited to meet him and have him as our companion and tour guide for the day.

Our first stop was the Musee Rodin. Auguste Rodin was a French sculptor famous for bronze sculptures such as "The Thinker,' "The Kiss" and "The Age of Bronze."

After the museum, we had lunch at La Boutique Jaune. Right across the street was another little restaurant called "Chez Marianne." I liked the sound of that.

We stopped at an eclair shop and purchased some dessert for later. As of midnight tonight, we still haven't eaten these treats. They will have to come with us on the bus tomorrow morning.

Rather than take a taxi back to the hotel in the late afternoon, we jumped in a "Tuc Tuc." We feared for our lives as we flew through rush hour traffic in downtown Paris in this crazy vehicle that thought it was a motorcycle.

In the evening, we took a cruise on the River Seine. We saw all the major sights of Paris along the banks of the river, including the Eiffel Tower, Louvre Museum, Notre Dame, and Invalides.
