Take Me Out to the Ball Game!

Celeste has a number of Indians season tickets, and Nancy and I joined her today for an afternoon game against the Texas Rangers. We had great seats, the Indians won, and we got to get our picture taken with Slider. Can't beat that!

After the game, Celeste took us for a little drive to the Piccadilly Artisan Creamery (a fancy name for an ice cream shop). This was a very unique ice cream shop as you will see.

After scooping up the liquid-looking ice cream of your chosen flavor, the worker behind the counter adds it and liquid nitrogen (321 degrees Fahrenheit) to the mixing bowl.

She lets it mix in the Kitchen Aid Mixer for several minutes until the liquid turns into a frozen mass that can be scooped out like regular ice cream.

It's really quite fascinating to watch.

Why make ice cream like this? It does not use any artificial flavorings, preservatives or chemicals. It contains milk and cream from grass-fed cows, free trade sugar, and organic fruit. They even had non-dairy options so I could have the vegan peach coconut milk variety.

Such a fun afternoon. Thanks, Celeste!
