Washington D. C.

Peter is in Washington D. C. this week with the 8th graders from his school. He gets to chaperone three Sponge Bob-loving boys in their hotel room. So I thought I'd pull out our 2002 scrapbook from when we visited the U. S. Capitol and share some photos from the last time he was there.

If you look very closely, you can see the White House in the background. Security was tight the year after 9/11 so no one was allowed into President Bush's house.

At the Smithsonian Museum, there was a sign from a 7-Eleven store. You can read the history here. I thought it was a good photo because Peter happened to be seven years old, and Daniel was eleven.

Here are some mug shots at the Bureau of Printing and Engraving. If you stood by this wall you could see how tall you were in $100 notes.

After leaving Washington D. C., we stopped at Williamsburg, VA

It wasn't long before these three got into trouble. Not really - they were kind enough to humor their mother.

Peter was an especially bad boy.
