30th Anniversary Trip
As we swayed in the breeze, we made a list of everything we wanted to do in our years as a married couple. We wrote the list on a piece of Caneel Bay stationery. The list has to be somewhere in our house, because I would not have thrown something like that away. Unfortunately, I cannot find it today.
Right now, I only remember two things that were on the list: buy two Siberian Huskies and go on a Mediterranean cruise. We got the two Siberian Huskies a few days after our honeymoon. It took us 30 years to book the Mediterranean cruise.
Next weekend, we leave for this trip that was planned in a hammock on St. John island. We will be on a ship for nine nights and we will visit three countries: Italy, Greece and Turkey. All the cities will be new to us: Rome, Naples, Sicily, Athens, Mykonos, Santorini and Ephesus.
Some of the amazing sights we will see are the Roman Colosseum, the Pantheon, Vatican City, the birthplace of Apollo on the island of Delos, the Temple of Artemis, the home of the virgin Mary in Ephesus, and the Acropolis.
As much as I love to bike from place to place, cruising sounds a whole lot more relaxing.
Stay tuned for photos...as long as I can get internet service on the ship.
